Our nursery is full of experienced child care professionals.
Both managers and our preschool leader were all Primary School teachers. We have 6 nursery assistants all trained to level 3, as part of our team. All staff are paediatric first aid and child protection trained. We also have a very experienced professional chef who cooks our meals and prepares our fantastic menu.
We offer a unique personal touch, and like our children to feel safe and at home in our setting. Then they are relaxed and can grow into happy, independent people.
Having strong relationships with our families is important to us, and we are approachable and in regular communication with our parents. We offer in the moment planning, have termly meetings with key workers, and our happy to have an informal chat about your child whenever you need to. Most of us are parents ourselves, and we understand how precious your little ones are. They are individuals with their own needs, minds and wishes.
We are extremely lucky to have such an enormous outdoor space. This helps us promote being active, curious and resilient, which are important life skills we promote at Little Blossoms'. We encourage our children to be outside for a good portion of the day, whether it is hunting for mini beasts, singing and dancing, using our ride on toys, building dens, gardening or just exploring. We also enjoy and encourage physical activity. Our manager was a physical education coordinator at her school, so does a fun sports day, gym activities and sessions of children's yoga.
Our philosophy is that the best way to encourage learning in early years is through hands-on, sensory experiences. Investigating and being creative, with a strong emphasis on learning through play.
Our children all have key workers, who support their play and learning by getting to know them really well. They use their skills as practitioners to identify teachable moments, which support your child to progress at the correct pace for them. They take photographs and observations and upload these on Tapestry for you to share. These observations are used to document your child’s learning journey, and help us highlight any support your child may need.
We organise our space to help us deliver the Early Years Curriculum in a stimulating and imaginative way, and we make good use of our outside space and our main hall. We also have a quiet room, for small group activities and if children need to rest or sleep.
Supported and supervised by staff, our children can move freely through different activities and discover new interests and skills as they explore, play and make friends.
